SNDK crushing +300% YTD on NAND rebound? Back-to-back beast mode. Meanwhile I rotated into MU at $90 last year—up solid but no cigar. Apes feasting on semis, I'm just holding my tendies.
This is every wsb. Line goes up slightly, modest gains, then big spike, discovers 0dte options, day trades, makes bank, then the inevitable loss, chasing a loss with a double down, more loss, a slight bounce just to give em fuckin hope, then gamble the rent. And on and on and on. Meanwhile they could’ve taken that first big win, stuck it in an index etf and some fixed income/high dividend preferreds and sat back with a nice nest egg.
Bold move converting $40k into deep OTM LEAPS — that's either genius or a margin call waiting to happen. The leverage can be insane though; been tracking setups on [StrikeEdge.io](http://StrikeEdge.io) and just watched an RXRX call go from $0.01 to $0.26 in days. The personal loan part is what's keeping me up at night for you. What strikes/expiries are you targeting?
I'm amazed it's even possible - I had to turn the video player and my system audio almost all the way up to hear it (normally have them both at 15-20%). If I'd accidentally played another video it probably would've cooked my brain. Would've thought there would be weird clipping issues or something, but I guess maybe that's the power of the floating point?
You’re playing this game on hard mode. Look at how much the price of in-the-money/near-the-money TLT options move each day. You can buy expirations on MWF every week. A big down Monday (and big is relative here because the price of the ETF doesn’t move a ton) can give you an exceedingly cheap entry point for a Wednesday call that doubles on Tuesday with a modest price move up. Instead of using that daily swing you’re going to just sit and let time eat away at the premium you paid and hope for a big move.
Thanks for the detailed response. I guess ill ask you the same question i asked the other guy. From your write up it does sound like theres less gamble-y strategies people use. I haven't actually traded anything yet but have been thinking about jumping in with some money i dont care about losing all that much. I was thinking about sticking to the big cap companies, buying ITM 2, 3, 4 weeks ahead of earnings and selling the day before to capture IV gains. Is that a reasonable strategy assuming you could stay disciplined and not hold through earnings and get crushed?
Opposite. We're saved thanks to OP. 1. Undefeated rules to making money: 1x Inverse WSB OP. **2x WSB OP on frontpage.** 3x WSB OP on frontpage at the top. 2. OP is on frontpage and bought *CALLS on TLT* w/ exp in mid-June. Which means they expect something bad to happen in the equities market, maybe sell in may go away, or the markets testing new fed chair Warsh. That's probably why they expect cut rates. Fed rate cuts to a market decline/crash will drive the 20yr yields down and TLT up. 3. Problem is OP is likely a retard and took too much risk in too short a time frame. The rich like Buffett/Dalio/Trump are loading up on short term bills/notes and gold rather than LT USTs. Also unlikely we get a downturn in May after we got one just earlier this year. Plus """market forces""" will likely want the market to keep going up either to stabilize PE/PC, win the AI race against China, prevent riots/revolution, so that they can unload a few TRILLION via the big 3 IPOs into retail 401K/IRAs via indexing coming later this year (SpaceX/Antropic/OpenAI), or you know Trump/GOP want to win the mid-terms. Who knows? All I know is that OP ain't thought about these things. So we're basically going to be good until at least mid-June. OP will probably lose on their trade. I know because I've been dip buying TMF since 2022-2024 as a hedge to my leveraged ETF positions only gotten get free tax loss harvesting at the end of each year. Thank you OP for your sacrifice.
Not a terrible play the warsh activation may cause a short run due to what he wants to make happen. My advice is if it jumps mid month on warsh sell half for a good profit and then maybe let the rest ride. I personally have played strangles on tlt every week for the last 7 weeks and only lost money one of those weeks. They have been getting harder though as premiums went up. We are at the low side of this loooong term range so in that respect it seems like an ok play but unless the new chair somehow convinces the others to vote for cuts i do see new lows happening
Years ago I joked about going public with a company that gives away $100 to everyone who signs up for $90. My margins would be 100x better than some of what's out there right now.
750 shares and 10x10$ calls 15/5 exp. My first options play. Aiming for a total of 100%. Options are now up 345%, shares ~20%.
