Microsoft reporting $4 billion loss on OpenAI equity was the day the realization sat in that its all house of cards. OpenAI has more than a $1 trillion in obligations and no way to pay for them. And GOOG is well protected as it is the only company who doesn’t need to pay anyone else a lot of money for development of AI. I also think thats is the reason Apple went with gemini for Siri overhaul because there is a significant chance OpenAI might not even survive in long term.

No but it solidifies for me that Apple’s earnings multiple is not justified. They are not a massive growth opportunity like the other Mag 7. They’re not really innovating. They’ll have a Siri that’s slightly less dumb, and give you 2 more megapixels for your selfies next year. But they’re not trying to for example completely redesign how you interact with your phone as a personal assistant or something in the age of AI. Everyone has been waiting for them to do something after they announced “Apple Intelligence” and it was a big nothing burger.
