If you buy your stocks through a reputable broker, who uses the standard stock exchanges, settlement mechanisms and CSDs, then the whole ecosystem should be "safe" (under regulations and oversight, guaranteeing delivery/fulfilment). Traditional stock trades don't settle immediately or on the same day (US typically uses T+1 settlement), but brokerages abstract from the underlying timing and show the shares as bough/sold immediately, so that retail regards are not bothered by the peculiarities of the financial system plumbing. When you daytrade a stock and you end up with a zero position on close (or the same position you started the day with, respectively), no stock changes hands, actually (the stock transactions net out and only cash settlement is necessary).

Waiting for the CEOs to realize they can buy dirt cheap land in Africa with mercenaries to protect it and build their data centres there, use the dirtiest fuel to run them with no regulations, and serve the American market with the compute. It's the logical lizard response to American public hostility to data centres.

I always point to watches. Chinese watchmaking has caught up to the Swiss/German/Japanese offerings at most price points up to the entry level luxury tier. Even above that you have non-Aliexpress brands that have real atelier workmanship. But, people understand this vast price undercutting is only possible through copying of designs and underpaid labor. They'd rather reward the manufacturer that actually developed the design and have the real thing, the parent or ur-design watches, instead of the homages. But, Swiss/Japanese/German watchmakers have always been excellent while American automotive industry is so far inferior that allowing Chinese cars into the market would cripple these companies and lead to mass job loss. But the incentive to improve in a safe environment doesn't exist until that happens so it's a catch-22.

I wish more people understood the way Elons mind and vision and goals were built. I don’t think he thinks too highly of himself let alone to think he is God. Do you understand that doesn’t stop him from trying to change the human limit of how a mortal can bend the powers of God? When I was a kid before road trips my mom had us pray for safe travels. Today Elon and team provide safe travels. Watching the man speak when could not before through neuralink. Our founding fathers believe some rights are God given, freedom of speech is something has does his best to give (at great personal expense).
