They cut corners even at corporate. They use an AI system to make decisions on how to save money now and are working to automate everything down to the stores. A former employee for taco bell corporate clued me in on how fucked PH and Taco bell are. The people at the top are siphoning all the money to the top and are letting the brands wither on the vine.

Ahhhh makes sense. I assumed delivery workers only worked that job. I don’t eat at either dominoes or ph that often, so I can’t really speak for quality. Fair enough though, I do understand the urge not to have your food delivered by some random gig worker, but I think most people are strangely comfortable with it.

Pre-Covid my local PH here in Germany had a mid week pick-up deal where you got an XL stuffed crust with 4 toppings for $10 (incl taxes and we don't tip here for a pick up). Now they are asking $2.20 for a ketchup sachet. Oh how I miss you, old friend...

ASTS is more accessible to the 3rd world too, 95% of them already have some level of access to internet. Most of the time it will be through a cell phone not wifi not a laptop. Kuiper and Starlink are more focused on business level WIFI in these places not watching youtube or tiktok. My closest experience to this is the Philippines. Not the Poorest country in the world but they aren't that far off. The average person in PH makes about $8(400 Peso)-$15(800 Peso) a day. Starlink is about $40 a month, well outside what the average person can afford. Especially since the underdeveloped areas lacking reliable internet are also the areas that pay under the official minimum wage
