the whole conceit of the show was “old school italian mafiaso” types dealing with a modern 90s world, clinging to their power through politics but scared shitless of new technology that could ensnare them at any time.. it wasn’t just italian jokes and being funny saying gAbAgOol it was Anthony Jr realizing he was riding his dads coat tails and being a huge poser, it was Meadow trying so hard to be woke but loving the lifestyle she was accustomed to. Christopher trying to make a movie and realizing he’s a small small fish. It’s got a lot, so many cultural critiques and dumb jokes “He was an interior decorator” .. It’s not pure genius but for a comedy/drama it can’t be beat for laughs and the storylines are as good as any. Even just Tony being in therapy is hilarious. The fucking ducks already.
