I actually think it was good for Bitcoin. To get it out of the shadows and into the mainstream. Make it more of a commodity to store value. Get more people invested in its future survival. It’s not there yet. It’s been following its usual boom / bust cycle, but it’s better that people can put it in their retirement account and forget about it. No worries about someone stealing their crypto because they don’t understand blockchain etc. Shit can still happen, but it’s much less risky for everyday people to participate in its evolution.

I saw Tom Lee on a podcast and they asked him about this IPO. The host was like "I dunno remember Blackstone in 2008? I'm getting those vibes. Tons of hype but turns out it was market top and it was was way overvalued. This valuation seems crazy" and Tom Lee said "No actually this is great for the market. I know people with seed capital in SpaceX, and with the IPO they'll all be able to pull out their massive gains. They will be able to reinvest those gains so that's good for the markets." So people buying into the IPO are exit liquidity, I guess? Transferring money from those people to the venture capitalists is good for the markets.
