Hey WSB fam! Damn it’s hard to write this with the wall of tears in front of my eyes, but will do my best not to do the same to you all. I know it’s a Fri and been a crazy fucking week for many. But just thought I’d drop in some emotional noodle soup. It’s been a while but to recap- I moved out across the country since my wife and I separated a few years ago, so I could support and be there for my kids. Turns out we’re looking to move into together to a house to make it easier for the kids; I’ll be moving out end of July officially out of my apartment, and I saw one of the apartment service crew just working his normal job outside. It was nice seeing him almost everyday after dropping the kiddos to school; even so much I considered him a morning friend, an elderly caring gentlemen. When I told him I was moving out he was happy and smiling and telling me I’m a great dad, with tears rolling down his face after a minute or two. I was perplexed but perhaps not so much, after empathizing that he might have experienced something similar in his life or is genuinely just so happy for me. I will miss him. Regardless, I had a moment in my car; while the world tries to eat and destroy itself in every tangible, technological and non technological means possible, just remember one thing- nothing will ever replace human kindness and emotion, no matter how hard they try to get AI to do so.
